Locums Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon (General Orthopedic Surgery) — Twin Falls, ID

A healthcare facility in Twin Falls is looking for a Locums General Orthopedic Surgery Physician to cover shifts at their Level III Trauma Center. This is a hands-on role managing acute orthopedic trauma alongside a collaborative team of surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, hospitalists, and advanced practice providers.

You’ll evaluate and treat patients with acute musculoskeletal injuries in both the emergency department and inpatient settings, providing operative and non-operative fracture care and other related orthopedic procedures. You’ll also consult on ED and inpatient cases, participate in trauma call coverage as part of the orthopedic team, and maintain clear, timely documentation to support patient safety and quality of care.

Compensation

• $4,050 per shift

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage traumatic orthopedic injuries in a Level III trauma center
• Perform operative and non-operative fracture management and related procedures
• Provide consults for emergency department and inpatient cases
• Participate in trauma call coverage with the orthopedic team
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary group including trauma surgeons, emergency medicine, hospitalists, and APPs
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold high standards of patient safety and care

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma preferred
• Eligible for Idaho medical licensure
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to manage complex trauma cases
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
