Locum Neurosurgeon — Rapid City, SD (Inpatient/Outpatient, Trauma & Spine)

Join a tight-knit neurosurgical team in Rapid City, South Dakota, as a full-time locum neurosurgeon. This role blends inpatient and outpatient care across complex cranial, spine, and trauma cases, offering hands-on collaboration with OR staff, hospital teams, and neurosurgical colleagues while treating a diverse patient population. Compensation: $5,000 per shift.

What you’ll do

• Perform neurosurgical procedures, including cranial, spine, and trauma operations
• Manage inpatient care: rounding, admissions, post-op management, and discharges
• Run outpatient clinic visits and follow-up care
• Respond to ED and inpatient neurosurgical consults
• Work closely with neurosurgeons, OR teams, and multidisciplinary hospital staff
• Keep accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record

What we’re looking for

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
• Active South Dakota medical license or ability to obtain one
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to practice independently and as part of a team
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience in neurosurgery, trauma, or surgical critical care strongly preferred
