OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician — Austin, TX

Join a hospital-based obstetrics team in Austin, TX as a board-certified or board-eligible OB/GYN hospitalist. This inpatient-only role provides immediate, in-house OB/GYN coverage for obstetric emergencies and focuses on patient safety, quality, and efficient care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient/hospitalist OB/GYN care on labor and delivery
• Be immediately available to manage obstetric emergencies during scheduled shifts
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary L&D teams to support safe, timely care
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives as required

Schedule

• Hospitalist-only position (no clinic or office responsibilities)
• Typically 7–9 24-hour shifts per month
• No on-call duties outside scheduled shifts
• Predictable, block-style scheduling

Compensation and benefits

• Base annual compensation: $300,000–$340,000

Minimum qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency
• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Active Texas medical license or eligibility for licensure
• Current DEA registration
