Join a high-acuity cardiac surgery team in Corvallis, OR on a contract/travel assignment starting ASAP. You’ll care for patients through the perioperative period—supporting pre- and post-operative recovery, monitoring cardiac function and hemodynamics, and collaborating closely with surgeons and the broader care team. This role pays $2,704 per 40-hour week.
What you’ll bring
- Active RN license and graduation from an accredited nursing program
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Previous experience in cardiac surgery, ICU, or advanced cardiac care is preferred
- Strong cardiac assessment skills and sound critical thinking for fast-paced, high-acuity situations
What you’ll do
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac surgery
- Perform pre-op and post-op assessments, continuous monitoring, and timely interventions
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, surgical sites, and manage chest tubes, drains, and wound care
- Work closely with cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families about recovery, discharge planning, and post-surgical self-care
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMR
