Locum OB/GYN — Inpatient Call-Only (Palmer, AK) — Travel, Lodging & Malpractice Provided

We’re seeking an OB/GYN to provide ongoing locum tenens call coverage in Palmer, Alaska (99645). This is inpatient, call-only work starting July 21, 2026 and continuing on an open-ended basis. You’ll carry a beeper-style call with a 100% call ratio and are expected to respond within 30 minutes. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided by the vendor.

What you’ll do:

• Provide on-call coverage for obstetric and gynecologic emergencies.
• Respond to calls within the facility’s 30-minute requirement.
• Perform emergency cesarean deliveries and urgent gynecologic surgeries.
• Manage phone consultations with the ED and other staff.
• Round on admitted patients and oversee inpatient care.

• Average daily volume: 5 patients
• Admissions per day: ~2
• Rounding: inpatient and post-op
• Phone consults: ~5 per day

Facility and credentialing:

• EMR: Cerner/Athena
• Hospital privileges: not required; temporary privileges not available
• Emergency credentialing is available

Requirements:

• Board eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology (required)
• Licensed in Alaska
• Certifications: BLS, PALS, NRP
