Join a Silverdale, WA team as a Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner supporting adult cardiothoracic and thoracic surgery patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Coverage is ASAP and ongoing, with varied shifts and beeper call (weeknight overnights 5p–7a and weekend call). Travel, lodging, and malpractice are provided.

Clinical scope and volume

• Adult surgical population; average 5–10 patients/day with 0–3 admissions/day.
• Case mix includes cardiac surgery (CABG on pump, valve repair/replacement, aneurysm repair) and thoracic procedures (lung resections, chest wall surgery).
• Responsibilities include first-assist in open cardiothoracic cases, perioperative management in ICU and acute care, daily rounding, emergent consults while on call, and about 5% outpatient clinic coverage.

Facility and support

• EMR: Epic.
• Support team: RN navigators, MAs, 2 physicians, and 4 midlevels (PAs/NPs).

Privileges, credentialing, and requirements

• Hospital privileges required; credentialing timeline typically 3+ months.
• Board-certified NP required. WA license strongly preferred; candidates who will obtain WA licensure during credentialing will be considered. Local providers preferred (no flights).
• Required experience: hands-on cardiothoracic surgery experience, including OR first-assist and ICU/acute care management.
• Required procedures: general open CV/thoracic surgery, on-pump CABG, valvular repair and replacement.
• Compliance: clean malpractice/background preferred; self-query NPDB report required at presentation.
