Locums Orthopedic Surgeon — 24-Hour Call Coverage (Dickinson, ND; Jun 26–Jul 7, 2026)

Location: Dickinson, North Dakota

Assignment

• Dates: June 26, 2026, 7:00 AM – July 7, 2026, 7:00 AM
• Shift: 24-hour call coverage (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• Setting: Hospital-based, community hospital
• Coverage: Inpatient care, ED consults, operative surgical coverage

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide continuous 24-hour orthopedic call coverage for the assignment period
• Evaluate and manage acute and chronic orthopedic injuries and conditions
• Perform operative and non-operative procedures, including fracture stabilization
• Respond to emergency department orthopedic consultations
• Round on and manage orthopedic inpatients; provide follow-up care
• Coordinate care with emergency medicine, hospitalists, nursing, and rehabilitation teams
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR

Required Procedures / Competencies

• General orthopedic surgical procedures
• Fracture stabilization and operative fracture management
• Splinting and casting
• Emergency orthopedic evaluation and management
• Inpatient orthopedic consultation and follow-up

Facility & Systems

• Community hospital with broad-spectrum orthopedic practice
• Supportive clinical staff and ancillary services
• EMR systems: Meditech, Allscripts

Qualifications

• MD or DO required
• Orthopedic Surgery board certified preferred; board-eligible considered
• Active North Dakota medical license preferred; IMLC eligibility accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS required
