Seeking a board-eligible Hematology/Oncology physician for a locum tenens assignment in Joplin, MO (64804). This inpatient/outpatient role begins ASAP with ongoing coverage, Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., plus beeper call on weekends and occasional weekday evenings (1:3 call ratio; 15-minute response). Agency covers travel, lodging, and malpractice.

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide consultations and follow-up care for adult medical oncology and hematology patients (approx. 18–25 patients/day).
• Perform bone marrow biopsies as indicated.
• Participate in beeper call rotation, respond to phone consults (0–3/day), and round on admissions as needed.
• Collaborate with hospitalists for inpatient management.
• Document and manage care in Epic.

Facility and support

• Service setting: combined inpatient and outpatient.
• EMR: Epic.
• On-site diagnostics/equipment: PET/CT, automated breast ultrasound, linear accelerator.
• Support staff: RNs (5), MAs (5), PA/NPs (3), office staff (5).

Qualifications and compliance

• Board Eligible required; hematology/oncology fellowship preferred.
• Must hold an active MO license or have IMLC privileges; hospital privileges required (no temporary privileges; emergency privileges available within 60 days).
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS.
• Required experience in hematology/oncology and proficiency with Epic. Ability to function within a team-based care model.
