Locum tenens opportunity in Kingsport, TN providing hospital-based clinical coverage for adult and geriatric medicine and cardiac patients. Coverage begins August 1, 2026 and continues ongoing, with shifts available days (10:00–20:00) and nights (20:00–06:00). Typical volume is high, with approximately 93 encounters per day; responsibilities include admissions, daily rounding, follow-ups, and discharge planning.
Practice setting: large acute-care hospital (300+ beds) using Epic EMR. You will collaborate with hospitalist physicians, a dedicated NP/PA team, and specialty consultants (Cardiology, Nephrology, Vascular & CT Surgery, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, Urology, ENT, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurology, Radiology, Interventional Radiology). Hospital code and rapid response teams are available for support. No procedures required.
Requirements: active Tennessee NP (AANP/ANCC) or PA (NCCPA) license, Tennessee DEA and controlled substances registration, ACLS and PALS. Two years of recent hospitalist experience preferred; new graduates may be considered. Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges and credentialing timeline to be determined.
Compensation and logistics: rate TBD. Travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage provided.
