Location: New Ulm, MN
Setting: Critical Access Hospital / Outpatient Oncology Clinic (Epic EMR)
Assignment: Locum Tenens, Scheduled Clinical Coverage Only
Dates: 09/14/2026 – 13 weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Coverage: Part-time, 2–3 shifts per week; no call
Scope of Practice
- Outpatient management of patients of all ages with solid tumors and hematologic malignancies.
- Administer and manage chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and oncology supportive care.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary cancer care (infusion teams, research staff, nurse navigators, social work, dietitians, palliative care, genetic counseling, radiology, lab).
- Provide inpatient collaboration as clinically indicated.
Patient Volume & Case Mix
- Approximately 11–16 patients per day.
- Mix includes solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive therapies.
Facility & Support
- 686-bed critical access hospital.
- Specialty backup: hematologist/oncologists and full oncology support services.
- Support staff: oncology nurse navigator, clinic RNs, LPNs/CMAs, infusion nurses, oncology research nurse, financial counselors, behavioral health, rehab, provider coordinators.
Credentials & Compliance
- Active Minnesota license required.
- Certified Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Provider (APP).
- DEA and facility-required certifications as applicable.
- Hospital privileges and fingerprinting required.
- Epic experience preferred.
Compensation & Logistics
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered (if applicable).
- Orientation: 4 hours (non-billable).
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat outpatient hematology/oncology patients.
- Develop and implement treatment and follow-up plans in coordination with specialists.
- Document encounters accurately in Epic.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies and quality standards.
Preferred Experience
- Prior hematology/oncology experience.
