Locum Tenens OB Hospitalist — Greenville, NC (In-House Nights & Weekends; 24hr Shifts)

Coverage: Clinical + in-house call (nights & weekends); shared with OBGYN generalists and certified nurse midwife
Shift: Approximately eleven 24-hour shifts per month

Patient volume & case mix

• Patient volume: ~50 patients/day
• Admissions: ~10/day, ~5/night
• Surgical cases: ~10/month (per surgeon)
• Case mix: Labor & Delivery, Obstetrics, Gynecology, emergency consults, surgical cases

Responsibilities

• Provide in-house OB/GYN coverage and respond to codes
• Serve as backup for ED consults and when covering the ER
• Perform urgent and emergent obstetric and gynecologic procedures as required

Required procedures (must be able to perform)

• Cesarean delivery
• D&C (obstetric and gynecologic)
• Diagnostic laparoscopy
• Operative laparoscopy
• Urgent/emergent gynecologic procedures

Facility & support

• Standard hospital equipment available
• Specialty backup: NICU support via Maynard Children's Hospital
• Support staff: 27 physicians, 9 APPs, certified nurse midwife

Qualifications

• Board certified OBGYN
• Active NC medical license or ability to obtain
• Active DEA
• BLS
• OB hospitalist experience preferred
