A Level II Trauma Center in Jackson, Michigan is seeking a fellowship-trained Plastic Surgeon for locum coverage. This hospital-based role provides 24-hour call coverage for a well-established surgical practice, supporting adult and pediatric trauma and reconstructive needs in a multidisciplinary setting.

• Frequency: Approximately 7 call days per month (includes required weekend coverage)
• Call structure: 24-hour shift with 4 hours of unpaid callback time
• Average surgical volume: ~1 case per day

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive 24-hour plastic surgery call coverage for trauma and non-trauma consults
• Evaluate and manage trauma-related injuries, facial trauma, and general plastic surgery cases
• Perform reconstructive, pediatric, and adult plastic surgery procedures, including emergent interventions
• Manage inpatient consultations, operative care, and follow-up
• Collaborate closely with trauma surgeons, emergency medicine, hospitalists, and surgical staff
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation

Required Procedural Comfort

• Trauma-related plastic surgery cases and emergent interventions
• Facial laceration repair and facial trauma reconstruction
• Scar revision, skin grafting, and local/regional flap reconstruction
• Routine adult and pediatric plastic surgery procedures

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Fellowship-trained in Plastic Surgery
• Board-certified in Plastic Surgery
• Active Michigan medical license
• Current ACLS certification
