Locum tenens opportunity for a Pediatric General Surgeon in Richmond, Virginia, providing inpatient and outpatient clinical care and call coverage from Jun 11, 2026 – Jul 10, 2026.
Schedule and Coverage
- Clinic: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Night call: Mon–Fri, 8:00 PM–8:00 AM
- Weekend: 24-hour call Sat–Sun
- Call type: beeper, 1:1 ratio, 30-minute response time
Clinical Scope
- Patient population: 100% pediatric (newborns through teenagers)
- Average daily volume: 0–4 patients
- Case mix: pediatric general surgery (elective and emergent)
- Responsibilities: preoperative, operative, and postoperative care; inpatient rounding; phone consults; weekend surgical consults as needed
Facility and Support
- Service settings: inpatient and outpatient
- Support: office support staff available
Requirements
- Board certified in Pediatric Surgery
- Active Virginia medical license and VA DEA
- Certifications: BLS and PALS
- COVID vaccination required
- COI coverage of $2.6M/$7.8M (VA statutory limits) required if requested by the facility
