Adelphi seeks an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive psychiatric care via telepsychiatry to adult inmates in a North Carolina correctional facility. You will join an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, security-conscious mental health services consistent with facility policies, community standards, and correctional guidelines.

Required qualifications
- Unrestricted North Carolina NP license with PMHNP certification
- DEA registration
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum one year post-licensure clinical experience in psychiatry or correctional settings preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems (HERO preferred) and ability to work in a secure correctional environment
Key responsibilities
- Perform psychiatric evaluations, mental health assessments, and crisis intervention for incarcerated adults
- Diagnose psychiatric disorders and create individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with the facility formulary
- Monitor clinical response, adjust treatment as indicated, and ensure medication safety
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the HERO electronic medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, psychologists, and other clinical staff; participate in interdisciplinary care planning and team meetings
- Adhere to DAC regulations, HIPAA, PREA, and facility security protocols
- Facilitate continuity of care and coordinate referrals for higher levels of psychiatric treatment when needed
