Clinical setting and volume
- Service: Emergency Department
- Annual ED visits: ~17,000
- ED beds: 15
- Hospital beds: 103
- Trauma level: TBD
- EMR: Modern system
Clinical support and resources
- Specialty backup: Available and dependable
- APC coverage: 10 hours daily
- Physician coverage: 24 hours daily
- Standard ED equipment and resources provided
Scope of practice
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage emergency department patients
- Manage acute and emergent medical conditions and perform emergency procedures, including moderate sedation
- Admit patients as indicated
- Collaborate with APCs and specialty consultants
- Complete accurate, timely documentation
Privileging and compliance
- Hospital privileges required
Required credentials and experience
- Active Indiana medical license, Indiana controlled substance registration, and DEA with Indiana address
- Board certified ABEM/AOBEM or ABMS-recognized specialty with qualifying emergency medicine experience
- Active DEA required
- BLS/CPR certification required
- New EM residency graduates within past 12 months accepted
- Internal medicine physicians: minimum five years continuous full-time experience in a high-volume ED (>30,000 annual visits)
- Documentation of case logs for the past two years and CME attestation required during application
