Seeking a Board-Certified General Surgeon (locum tenens) to provide supplemental inpatient and outpatient coverage in Kenansville, NC. Coverage is call-only with two separate assignments: July 17–21 and September 25–28, 2026. Call is 24 hours (7:00 a.m.–7:00 a.m.). Anticipated surgical volume is approximately 65 cases per month.

Practice and facility details:

• Service setting: inpatient and outpatient
• Facility: 49-bed hospital (ED: 9 beds; Fast Track: 4 beds)
• Operating rooms: 3
• Support team: 2 MDs, 1 nurse
• Will not respond to codes
• ICU/critical care procedures required

Common procedures and responsibilities:

• Colonoscopy, EGD
• Appendectomy, cholecystectomy
• Bowel obstruction management, strangulated hernia repair
• Incision & drainage, amputations

Compensation and logistics:

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina medical license
• Board Certification in General Surgery
