We are seeking a board-eligible/interventional neuroradiology physician to provide locum tenens endovascular coverage in Billings, MT (inpatient, call-only). Coverage is ASAP – ongoing with 24-hour beeper call and a 20-minute response time. Travel, lodging, and malpractice are provided by the agency.

Clinical scope

  • Provide comprehensive emergent endovascular care for large vessel occlusion (LVO), hemorrhagic stroke, vasospasm, and related procedures using a biplane suite.
  • Manage inpatient rounding and consults; expect 5–8 admissions/day and 2–4 phone consults daily. Adult patients predominate, with occasional pediatric cases.
  • Coordinate care with APP support and the multidisciplinary stroke team. General neurosurgery responsibilities are not required.

Facility & support

  • Location: Billings, MT 59101 (inpatient service).
  • EMR: Cerner.
  • Support staff: RN (2), PA/NP (1), APP coverage available.
  • Equipment: Biplane procedural suite.

Privileges & logistics

  • Hospital/temporary privileges: not required/available.
  • Coverage type: supplemental.
  • Shift schedule: 24-hour beeper call with 20-minute response.

Required qualifications

  • Fellowship in endovascular/neurointerventional specialty required.
  • Board eligible.
  • MT medical license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) eligibility.
  • BLS and ACLS required.
  • Proficiency with Cerner and ability to work with APP support. Experience in endovascular neuroradiology preferred.

Procedures

  • Required: adult general neurosurgery/trauma coverage, aneurysm clipping, endovascular procedures, placement of ICP monitors.
  • Preferred: pediatric cases, cerebrovascular open and endovascular procedures, carotid/vertebral surgery, tumor and peripheral nerve procedures, spinal and pain procedures, vent management, and related skills.

Responsibility highlights

  • Respond promptly to beeper calls and deliver high-quality endovascular stroke care.
  • Perform procedures in the biplane suite and manage inpatient treatment plans and consults in collaboration with the stroke team and APPs.
