Join a Charleston, WV practice for locum tenens coverage providing clinical and call support in both ambulatory surgery center and hospital settings. Coverage runs Aug 31, 2026 – Mar 1, 2027 with a recurring clinical shift of one week per month (Thursday 7:00 AM – following Thursday 7:00 AM).
Scope of practice:
- Provide clinic and OR coverage for plastic surgery and hand-trauma patients of all ages.
- Manage hand trauma, including carpal tunnel, trigger fingers, and related acute hand conditions.
- Perform body contouring and cosmetic procedures.
- Deliver breast reconstruction for post-mastectomy patients.
- Participate in designated call rotation during assigned weeks.
Case mix and volume:
- Typical cases include hand trauma, carpal tunnel release, trigger finger release, body contouring, cosmetic surgery, and breast reconstruction. Patient volume/census to be determined.
Facility and support:
- Work with an interdisciplinary team including RNs, MAs, LPNs, PAs, NPs, clerical staff, 3 physicians, and 3 APPs.
- Electronic medical record: Cerner.
- Settings: Ambulatory Surgery Center and hospital ORs.
Requirements:
- Board certified in Plastic Surgery.
- Experience managing hand trauma required.
- Valid DEA registration.
- Licensure: Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) or West Virginia temporary license.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS.
Privileges and compliance:
- Credentialing timeline approximately 60 days.
