Job Description
A well-established regional medical center in Twin Falls, Idaho seeks a Locums Vascular Surgeon to provide call coverage and support an experienced vascular program serving Southern Idaho and nearby communities. This role offers the opportunity to join a mature, well-supported service with a dedicated vascular clinic and laboratory, comprehensive OR capabilities, and a strong referral network.
Key Program Features
- Established vascular clinic and accredited vascular laboratory
- Robust referral base across Southern Idaho
- Mature program with full institutional support and modern OR resources
- Dedicated nurse practitioners and physician assistants providing daily clinical support
- Close collaboration with hospitalists, intensivists, emergency medicine, and trauma teams
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide vascular surgery call coverage for the Emergency Department
- Evaluate and manage urgent inpatient and outpatient vascular consultations
- Assess and treat urgent clinic referrals and perform vascular surgical procedures as indicated
- Collaborate with advanced practice providers on perioperative care, follow-up, and discharge planning
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and care coordination
- Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation
Patient Flow and Team Structure
- Urgent vascular interventions are admitted via the Emergency Department
- Medical admissions are co-managed with hospitalists and intensivists
- Trauma patients are managed by the trauma service with vascular consultation as needed
- APPs support ongoing inpatient and outpatient vascular care and follow-up
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery
- Completion of an accredited vascular surgery fellowship or integrated vascular surgery training program
- Active Idaho medical license preferred or ability to obtain
- Current DEA registration required
- ACLS and BLS certifications preferred
Compensation & Support
- Competitive above-market hourly rate
- All travel arrangements provided and booked by the group in addition to per-shift pay
- Malpractice and tail coverage included
- Dedicated locum consultant to manage credentialing and scheduling
