Locum tenens opportunity for a board-certified/eligible Pathologist in Charleston, WV (clinical-only coverage). Assignment runs Aug 31, 2026 – Nov 30, 2026. Weekday schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; no call.
Clinical scope: Adult practice with an average volume of ~140 cases per day, encompassing a full anatomic pathology case mix including frozen sections and fine needle aspiration (FNA). Required hands-on procedures include frozen specimen handling and performance of FNAs in collaboration with interventional radiology.
Core responsibilities:
- Review and render diagnoses on anatomic pathology cases
- Perform and interpret frozen sections
- Conduct FNAs alongside interventional radiology
- Manage daily case load (~140 cases/day)
- Maintain timely documentation and communicate findings to clinical teams
Ideal candidate: experienced in high-volume anatomic pathology practice with proficiency in frozen sections and FNAs, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a clinical-only setting.
