Locum Tenens Wound Care Physician (Outpatient Springfield, IL) — Travel/Lodging Covered

Join a Springfield, IL outpatient wound care team as a locum tenens clinician providing clinical-only coverage for a medical leave. Assignment dates: July 13, 2026 – September 4, 2026. Schedule is typically Monday–Friday, daytime clinic hours (approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM); a four-day option (Tue–Fri or Mon–Thu) is also available. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided by the agency.

Clinical responsibilities:

• Manage an average caseload of ~25 patients/day with chronic and acute wounds, including diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, surgical wounds, and other complex wounds.
• Perform wound assessments, debridement, and advanced dressing changes.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and coordinate care with RNs, office staff, and referring providers.
• Accurately document all patient encounters in Epic EMR.

Facility and support:

• Outpatient clinic using Epic.
• Support team: 2 RNs and 1 office staff.
• No hospital privileges required.

Qualifications:

• Board eligible required.
• Must hold an Illinois license or participate in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).
• Current BLS and ABLS certifications.
• Preference given to APRNs or PAs with wound care experience; physicians will be considered.
