Join a collaborative Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant team in Fort Myers, FL, covering Health Park Medical Center for a locum assignment from Aug 5, 2026 to Dec 31, 2026. This weekend-focused role runs Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 8:00 AM and includes rounding on Saturday and Sunday. Travel, lodging, and malpractice are provided.

What you’ll see and do

• Manage patients with advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and general heart failure in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provide weekend call coverage (Fri 5 PM–Mon 8 AM) with in-person rounding on weekends.
• Use and manage short-term mechanical circulatory support (Impella, ECMO) as part of acute care.
• Work closely with APPs, surgeons, and other specialists and coordinate care with regional heart transplant referral centers when transplant evaluation or transfer is needed.

Team and facility support

• You’ll be part of an integrated AHF cardiology and surgical program with multidisciplinary backup.
• APPs (NPs/PAs) round with the physician most days; coverage may vary on PTO/CME days.

Qualifications

• BC/BE in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology (ABIM).
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited heart failure fellowship.
• Preferably more than 5 years post-fellowship experience.
• NPDB report must be clear and no older than 3 months.

Schedule and logistics

• Shift: Weekend-focused — Fri 5 PM to Mon 8 AM (rounding + call).
• Coverage period: Aug 05, 2026 – Dec 31, 2026.
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.
