Patient Population
- Emergency Department patients
- Annual ED volume: 24,000 visits
- Case mix: general emergency medicine
- Admissions as required
Facility & Support
- Hospital with 80 beds
- EMR: Epic
- Specialty backup: hospital-based specialty support
- APP coverage: 22 hours daily
Privileges & Compliance
- Hospital privileges required
- Documentation of special procedure training required if applicable
- Must meet facility requirements for supervision of NP/PA providers
Compensation & Benefits
- Rate: TBD
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide ED physician coverage and patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and stabilization
- Supervise NP and PA providers per facility policy
- Perform standard emergency medicine procedures
- Document care accurately in Epic
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Tennessee medical license
- Board certified or eligible through ABEM, ABFM, ABIM, ABPS, or AOA pathways
- Active DEA with Tennessee address; authorized schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, 5
- ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required if not ABEM-certified; NRP required for non-ABEM providers
- Graduate of accredited MD or DO program; completion of residency training
- ECFMG certification required for international graduates
- Case logs for previous 2 years required
- Preeclampsia–eclampsia CME required for initial appointment and every two years for reappointment
- Fellowship required
- New graduates and EM residency graduates within past 12 months considered
- Telehealth experience not required
