Travel PCU/Step-Down RN (Night) — Lima, OH (Open Heart/Post-Op Cardiac Care)

Join a progressive care/stepdown team in Lima, OH for a night shift contract with a strong focus on post-op cardiac and critical care. This 12-hour night schedule (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) begins June 30, 2026, and requires every-other-weekend availability. No on-call. The pay rate is $2,102 for 36 hours.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide skilled post-operative open-heart and progressive care nursing on a stepdown unit.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythm strips, recognize rhythm changes, and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Manage chest tubes and other drains; assist with chest tube removal.
• Assist with removal of pericardial pacing wires and manage temporary pacers (including pericardial and transcutaneous devices).
• Provide pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral vascular access.
• Use and troubleshoot non-invasive ventilation (NIV), high-flow oxygen, and other oxygen delivery systems.
• Float to other units as needed within your competency.

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including critical care and post-op open heart care.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities and related interventions.
• Hands-on experience with chest tube/drain management, pacing wires, temporary pacers, and cardiac monitoring.
• Comfort assisting with procedural removals and managing advanced respiratory support devices.

Required credentials

• Active Ohio RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
