Pinon Health Center – Chinle Service Unit, Indian Health Service (IHS)
Location: Pinon, Arizona
Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
Position Summary
Sequoyah Staffing Agency is preparing a proposal to provide Family Medicine Physician services to Pinon Health Center, an Indian Health Service (IHS) facility located within the Chinle Service Unit on the Navajo Nation. This position is contingent upon contract award and successful completion of all credentialing and onboarding requirements.
The selected physician will provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions for patients across the lifespan. Services will be delivered in accordance with IHS standards of care and facility policies.
Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive family medicine and primary care services.

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic illnesses.

Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory studies.

Develop and implement treatment plans.

Prescribe medications and coordinate specialty referrals when appropriate.

Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic health record.

Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and ancillary healthcare providers.

Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Maintain compliance with IHS, Joint Commission, and federal healthcare standards.
Benefits
- Pay rate: $140-$150
- Malpractice coverage of $1M/$3M plus tail coverage
Proposed Schedule

Monday through Friday

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Approximately 40 hours per week

Minimum Qualifications
-
Graduate of an accredited medical school and residency program in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

Current, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory.

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

Current DEA registration.
-
Current BLS certification.
-
Ability to obtain and maintain IHS clinical privileges.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Prior experience working in rural, tribal, community health, or Indian Health Service settings.

Experience treating diverse patient populations across the lifespan.
-
ACLS certification.
Credentialing Requirements
The selected provider must successfully complete all facility credentialing, privileging, background investigation, and onboarding requirements prior to the start of services.
