Rate: Local: $932 / 36 hours

Requirements:

  • Current, active LPN license for the state of Maine
  • BLS certification

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction (medication administration, wound care, vital signs)
  • Conduct patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols
  • Manage wounds: assess, clean, dress, monitor for infection/complications
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition
  • Maintain accurate patient records of treatments, medications, and observations
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care
  • Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids; ensure proper IV line function
  • Manage urinary catheters: insertion, maintenance, and monitoring for issues
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff)
  • Address patient comfort, mobility assistance, positioning, and pain management
  • Respond to medical emergencies per protocols and provide BLS as needed
  • Follow infection control procedures and proper use of PPE
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications/supplies per regulations
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and support health assessments
  • Advocate for patient rights and appropriate care
  • Participate in ongoing education to maintain current nursing practices
  • May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
