Locum Tenens OB/GYN Physician — Call-Only Inpatient Coverage (Missoula, MT)

Location: Missoula, MT 59802 | Coverage: Sep 1, 2026 – Ongoing

Seeking a board-certified OB/GYN for locum tenens inpatient call coverage in Missoula. This role provides 24-hour pager call (7a–7a) seven days a week, with a 30-minute response expectation and three hours gratis per 24-hour shift. Agency covers travel, lodging, and malpractice.

Scope of practice

• Provide on-call management of emergent gynecologic and occasional obstetric cases; average volume ~1–2 patients/day.
• Phone consultations as needed and timely in-person callbacks when required.
• Document all encounters in Epic.

Clinical responsibilities

• Manage emergency GYN surgeries, including open procedures, diagnostic/minor laparoscopies (e.g., tubal ligation), and major operative laparoscopy (ectopic pregnancy, oophorectomy, cystectomy, extensive lysis of adhesions).
• Participate in emergent OB care as needed: routine and complicated deliveries, C-sections, breech and multiple births, VBACs, abruptions, and fetal heart rate interpretation (NST/CST/FSE).
• Perform and interpret OB ultrasounds (Level I and II), amniocentesis, repair of 3rd–4th degree lacerations, and office gynecology procedures (IUD, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, cystoscopy). Laser certification and broader surgical gynecology experience preferred.

Requirements

• Board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• BLS required.
• Active OB clinical experience within the past 2 years.
• Temporary or hospital privileges are not required/available for this assignment.
