Type: Temporary Contract, Part-time (up to 24 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM
Start Date: July 1, 2026
Contract Duration: TBD
Compensation: $55–$65/hour

Position summary
Provide evaluation and treatment of adult patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders in an inpatient mental health setting.

Minimum requirements

  • Active Missouri Speech-Language Pathologist license
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Experience conducting speech, language, and swallowing evaluations and providing treatment
  • Ability to develop measurable therapy goals and treatment plans for adult consumers
  • Successful completion of facility orientation and credentialing/security requirements

Preferred experience

  • Behavioral health, rehabilitation, long-term care, or hospital settings

Core skills

  • Strong documentation and clinical record-keeping
  • Clear communication and ability to collaborate with clinical teams and caregivers
  • Sound clinical judgment for referrals to medical specialists, dentists, or counselors

Primary responsibilities

  • Assess speech, language, and swallowing function using appropriate diagnostic tools
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with measurable goals
  • Provide direct therapy for speech, language, and swallowing impairments
  • Interpret assessment results for staff, consumers, and caregivers
  • Refer to medical specialists or other providers when clinically indicated
  • Complete documentation per facility policies and timelines
  • Ensure safe and effective delivery of services
  • Complete required orientation before beginning services
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
