Adelphi seeks a licensed nurse to provide one-to-one private nursing services for a student with significant medical needs at a school in Waldorf, MD. This is a short-term contract assignment focused on delivering nursing care according to the student’s individualized health care plan.

Requirements

  • Active Maryland nursing license
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience

Primary responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated medical care exclusively to the assigned student and remain available throughout the school day.
  • Maintain visual access to the student unless the health plan or IEP specifies otherwise.
  • Deliver care unobtrusively in the classroom setting and respond to medical emergencies as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to support implementation of the student’s IEP.
  • Attend IEP meetings and share relevant medical information when requested.
  • Follow school district policies and specific physician orders during school hours and transportation.
  • Ensure medical supplies and equipment are available, functional, and properly maintained.
  • Perform delegated activities related to the student’s care as directed by staff.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
