Locum Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant — Outpatient (Hackensack, NJ)

Full-time locum tenens opportunity in Hackensack, NJ — outpatient-only coverage for a leave of absence. Collaborative practice with an established cardiac surgery team.

Compensation

• $125 per hour

Schedule & Setting

• Monday–Friday
• Four 10-hour shifts per week (alternating day off)
• Outpatient clinic only

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage preoperative and postoperative cardiac surgery patients
• Average caseload: ~10 patients per day
• Perform minor postoperative procedures, including wound debridement and wound packing
• Collaborate with cardiac surgeons and advanced practice providers to ensure continuity of care

Practice Environment

• Team of 5 cardiac surgeons
• 5 outpatient advanced practice providers and a Clinical APN Manager
• Coordination with inpatient NP/PA team
• Support staff: clerical coordinators, scheduling staff, certified medical assistants (CMAs), office supervisor, and office manager

Required Qualifications

• Active NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physician Assistant) credential with cardiac surgery experience
• Active New Jersey license
• Current DEA and Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) registration
• Prior experience managing cardiac surgery patients in outpatient or surgical practice preferred
