Location: Tuscumbia, AL | Start: ASAP | Duration: 7 weeks | Shift: 06:00 PM–06:30 AM | Type: Contract (Local) | Rate: $882 / 36 hours

Overview:
Provide direct nursing care in collaboration with RNs and physicians for a short-term contract in Tuscumbia. Deliver safe, evidence-based care while documenting patient status, educating patients and families, and contributing to the interdisciplinary care plan.

Required:

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for the state of Alabama
  • BLS certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient assessments, obtain histories, and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and verifying dosing.
  • Monitor, record, and report vital signs and changes in patient condition.
  • Provide wound care, manage dressings, and observe for signs of infection or complications.
  • Insert, manage, and monitor urinary catheters; assist with catheter care and complication prevention.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications and fluids; ensure proper IV line function and safety.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) and prepare them for laboratory testing.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate patient documentation, including treatments and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Promote patient comfort, mobility assistance, pain management, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, providing basic life support as required.
  • Follow strict infection control practices and proper handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team—RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff—to coordinate care.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs; supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Participate in ongoing education to remain current with nursing best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
