Rate: $1,040.40 / 36 hours
Required certifications and qualifications
- Current Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (NNCC or BONET)
- Current CPR or BLS certification
- Recent experience providing direct patient care in a dialysis setting
- Ability to read and follow complex instructions and communicate effectively one-on-one and in small groups
Core responsibilities
- Set up patient stations and dialysis machines pre-treatment; enter treatment data
- Cannulate access, initiate and manage treatments, remove needles and take down/clean machines post-treatment
- Perform catheter care: access, flush, and heparinize; prepare heparin for catheter flush
- Collect lab specimens and perform required testing sample collection (LAL, water, dialysate)
- Measure and record patient assessment data and vital signs (pulse, temperature, manual blood pressure, weight) on treatment records
- Conduct vascular access monitoring and related data collection
- Perform and document routine and intermittent water room checks; conduct monthly water room disinfection as required by testing results
- Perform water, dialysate, and machine safety checks and record equipment status and repairs
- Maintain and inventory medical supplies; place orders as needed
- Apply and follow infection prevention protocols for dialysis equipment
- Work with Biomedical Team on equipment maintenance and repairs
- Participate in department performance improvement, education, and training activities
Documentation and regulatory
- Maintain accurate records of treatments, equipment status, repairs, water and dialysate test results, and other regulatory documentation
Physical/skills
- Competent in manual blood pressure measurement and standard dialysis technical procedures
- Able to perform patient care duties and operate dialysis equipment in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
