Job Description
Location: Dickinson, North Dakota
Engagement: Ongoing locum tenens; collaborative practice covering inpatient, outpatient clinic, operating room, and call.
Schedule:
- Approximately 14 working days per month with 10 days of call
- Scheduled surgeries Monday–Friday
- Emergency surgery call 24/7 as assigned
Clinical responsibilities:
- Evaluate and manage general surgery patients in clinic and hospital settings, including pre- and post-operative care
- Perform scheduled and emergency general surgical procedures
- Provide 24-hour on-call coverage per assignment
Patient volume:
- Average daily census: ~15 patients
- Average general surgery patients during a 24-hour call: 0–5
Procedures expected:
- Abdominal surgery
- Laparoscopic procedures
- Endoscopy
- Cholecystectomy
- Appendectomy
- Colon surgery
- Stomach surgery
- Liver procedures
- Splenectomy
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in General Surgery or Board Eligible (within 3 years of U.S. residency completion)
- Active North Dakota medical license
- Current DEA registration
- ATLS and PALS certifications mandatory
