Locum Tenens Pediatrician — Call-Only (Elko, NV) | Travel, Housing & Malpractice Covered

We're looking for a pediatrician to provide call-only locum coverage in Elko, NV (89801). This role supports both inpatient and outpatient needs with a 7a–7a beeper call shift and a 30-minute response time. Travel, lodging, and malpractice are covered by the vendor.

Typical patient volume and responsibilities:

• Average daily volume: 2–3 patients
• Admissions: 1–2 per day
• Rounding: inpatient and outpatient rounding expected
• Phone consults: about 2–3 per shift
• Provide timely callbacks and document supporting notes on timesheets for callbacks/overtime

Facility and support:

• EMR: MEDHOST
• On-site support: 1 RN, 1 MA, and 1 PA/NP
• Temporary hospital privileges are available; permanent privileges are not required. Credentialing typically takes 30–90 days.

Required and preferred clinical skills:
Required procedures:

• Paracentesis
• Thoracentesis
• Chest tube insertion
• Needle decompression for pneumothorax
• X-ray and EKG interpretation
• Pulmonary artery catheter management
• Exchange transfusion
• Minor laceration suturing
• Circumcision (specified type)
• Swallow study interpretation

Preferred skills:

• Non-invasive and invasive ventilation management (neonatal and pediatric, acute/chronic)
• Intubation (ETT/NT for newborns and pediatrics)
• Conscious and deep sedation
• Central and arterial line placement
• UVC/UAC placement
• Lumbar puncture

Qualifications:

• Board eligible (board certified preferred)
• NV medical license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) accepted
• DEA registration required
• PALS and NRP certification required
• Fellowship preferred
• Minimum of 3 years post-residency experience preferred
• Must participate with Nevada Medicaid or allow vendor assistance with provider enrollment
