Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced cardiac electrophysiologist to join a Duluth, MN outpatient team on a locum tenens basis. This role focuses on clinic and procedural EP care in a supportive, multidisciplinary setting.

Schedule & assignment

  • Start: Sep 1, 2026 – ongoing (minimum 6 months)
  • Days: Monday–Friday, two week blocks per month (8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.)
  • No call, no holiday coverage
  • Coverage type: clinical only (outpatient + EP lab)
  • Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided by the agency

Clinical mix & volume

  • Typical daily volume: ~12 clinic patients and 3–4 EP lab cases
  • Approximate split: 60–70% clinic, 30–40% procedures
  • Typical scope: management of AF and other arrhythmias; VT, PVC ablations, and device extractions are not part of this assignment

Facility & support

  • Level I trauma center with Pediatric Level II services
  • EMR: Epic (experience required)
  • Robust support team: ~9 RNs, 4 PAs/NPs, and several administrative staff
  • Hospital privileges required

Qualifications

  • Board certified in Electrophysiology
  • Fellowship training required
  • Minimum 2 years of EP experience
  • Licensed in Minnesota or eligible via the IMLC
  • Epic EMR experience required

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient electrophysiology care and perform assigned lab procedures consistent with the clinic/lab scope
  • Document encounters accurately and promptly in Epic
  • Coordinate care with RNs, PAs/NPs, and office staff to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality outcomes
