Locum Tenens position in Redwood City, CA supporting a new inpatient OB/GYN practice. Coverage begins Nov 1, 2026 and continues ongoing with 24-hour in-house shifts. This clinical-only role serves a high-volume maternity unit (approximately 1,200 births/year) and includes admissions, rounding, and phone consults. Case mix includes routine and high-risk obstetrics, gynecologic emergencies, and inpatient consults.

Key responsibilities

• Triage and manage OB/GYN surgery cases
• Provide labor and delivery care and management
• Evaluate and treat obstetric and gynecologic emergencies
• Perform inpatient consultations and collaborate with community OB/GYNs, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, NICU, and nursing teams

Facility and support

• Large hospital system with 200+ beds in the department
• On-site specialty backup: Maternal-Fetal Medicine, NICU, and community OB/GYN coverage

Qualifications

• Board-certified in OB/GYN
• Active California medical license and DEA registration
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience required (5 years preferred)
• Clean background with no malpractice history; NPDB self-query report required
• Submission requirements: completed prescreen questionnaire; CV in MM/YYYY format with explanations for any gaps
