Locum Tenens Urgent Care NP/PA — Wilmington, NC (Adults & Pediatrics)

Seeking a board-certified Nurse Practitioner to provide locum tenens urgent care coverage in Wilmington, NC. This outpatient clinical role is ASAP–ongoing to supplement existing staff. Candidates must be local to the area and able to serve as the sole provider in a high-volume urgent care setting.

• Setting: Outpatient urgent care (Adults & pediatrics 6 months+)
• Volume: ~40 patients/day
• Coverage type: Clinical only
• Schedule: ASAP – ongoing
• EMR: Epic
• Support: 1 MA and 1 office staff; supervising physician available offsite
• Malpractice: Provided by vendor; travel and lodging not covered; limited mileage reimbursement (up to 60 miles roundtrip)

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive urgent care for adults and children (from 6 months)
• Perform minor procedures (I&D, laceration repair, ear irrigation, etc.)
• Document all encounters in Epic
• Maintain a patient-centered approach consistent with community-focused care
• Coordinate with on-site staff and offsite supervising physician as needed

Requirements

• Board certified NP
• Active NC license and NC DEA
• BLS required; DOT and PALS/ACLS preferred
• Minimum 12 months of urgent care or equivalent experience (new graduates not considered)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage a high patient volume as sole provider
