Join a cardiology team in Eureka, CA, providing care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This locum tenens position starts Sep 1, 2026 and will continue on an ongoing basis to cover a long-term vacancy while a permanent hire is sought. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered by the agency.
What you’ll do
- Provide comprehensive cardiology care across inpatient and outpatient encounters.
- Take patient histories, perform physical exams, and develop diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Round on hospitalized cardiology patients and manage their follow-up care.
- Collaborate daily with physicians, RNs, MAs, PAs/NPs, and office staff to coordinate care.
- Document thoroughly and promptly in Epic.
Patient and facility snapshot
- Average volume: ~12 patients per day.
- EMR: Epic (proficiency preferred).
- Support staff: 1 RN, 10 MAs, 2 PA/NPs, 2 office staff.
Requirements
- Board certified in your specialty (BC required).
- Licensed to practice in California and DEA registered.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum 2 years of recent hospital clinical cardiology experience, with inpatient/rounding experience within the last 2 years.
