Position Summary:
Provide surgical technologist support in the operating room as a member of the cardiac surgery team. Perform surgical duties under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years surgical tech experience
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- BLS certification (current)
- CVOR experience
Core Responsibilities:
- Participate as part of the heart/cardiac surgery team
- Prepare and maintain sterile field and surgical instruments for procedures
- Assist during operations by passing instruments, sponges, and supplies
- Anticipate surgeon needs and respond promptly during cases
- Follow OR policies, infection control and safety protocols
- Work under direct supervision of an RN for assigned tasks
