Contract travel opportunity in Bethel, AK — 13 weeks beginning July 21, 2026. Days shift. Rate: $1,421/32 hours.
Overview
Provide ambulatory care nursing as a licensed practical/vocational nurse in an outpatient setting. Deliver respectful, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive care to patients from birth through elderly while working collaboratively with nursing staff, mid-level providers, and health aides.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an LPN/LVN program and licensed as an LPN/LVN in the State of Alaska in good standing.
- New graduates accepted; one year of hospital experience preferred. (Some positions may require 2+ years of experience.)
- Current BCLS/CPR (BLS) certification required.
- IV certification and Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention certification required.
- Must pass and maintain position-specific competencies.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and psychiatric patient care.
- Ability to function in a patient-care environment and operate common office equipment and medical devices (multi-line phone, computer, copier, dynamapp, thermometer, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care within LPN/LVN scope of practice.
- Respect patient rights and dignity; apply age-specific and culturally appropriate care.
- Serve as an active member of the nursing team and support Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation’s mission.
- Assist with room stocking, checklists, and ordering medical supplies as needed; collaborate with health aides.
- Screen patient calls and, when requested, support mid-level clinicians after hours (not first-responder on call).
- Duties may vary by assignment.
