Locum tenens opportunity in Duluth, MN (55805) covering inpatient general anesthesiology. Start ASAP for ongoing coverage. Schedule is Monday–Friday day shifts (8–10 hours) with assigned beeper call evenings, nights, and weekends; 20-minute response time. Agency covers travel, lodging, and malpractice.

Clinical scope and volume

• Variable daily volume with a complex case mix: cardiac (including open heart), neurosurgical (head and spine), thoracic (non–open heart), complex vascular, complex orthopedics, obstetrics, pediatrics (including neonatal), trauma, and interventional pain procedures.
• Expected to provide general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care across these specialties and manage perioperative assessment, intraoperative management, and postoperative pain care.

Procedures and skills required

• General, spinal, epidural, and regional anesthesia for adults, pediatrics, and neonates
• Obstetrical anesthesia and postoperative epidural/limb blocks
• Advanced pain procedures: epidural steroid injections (lumbar and cervical), transforaminal injections, and use of x‑ray guidance for blocks
• Airway and ventilation management; resuscitation and hemodynamic management
• Invasive monitoring and access: arterial lines, central lines, and pulmonary artery catheter placement
• Ultrasound- and fluoroscopy-guided regional techniques

Credentials and workplace

• Board certified in anesthesiology (BC required)
• Minnesota medical license or IMLC participation
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Fellowship training preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EMR strongly preferred
• Experience working in a team-based model with CRNAs and anesthesia assistants; supervision and collaboration expected

• Supervise and collaborate with anesthesia professionals in a team model
