Ohio Medical Director Opportunity

Lifepoint Rehabilitation is dedicated to Hope, Healing, and Recovery for our patients. In partnership with University Hospital, we are seeking a physician to serve as the Medical Director at Beachwood Rehabilitation Hospital, a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility providing physical, occupational, and speech-language therapy services.

This position will collaborate closely with the CEO and the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care in compliance with facility policies, CMS regulations, and The Joint Commission standards.

Medical Director Responsibilities

In addition to clinical care, the Medical Director will provide leadership and oversight to support the overall success of the rehabilitation program, including but not limited to:

• Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, including CMS, Joint Commission, and applicable state and federal guidelines
• Supervising and supporting clinical operations, including timely documentation, patient admissions, and care coordination
• Leading quality improvement, risk management, and performance initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
• Participating in medical staff committees, leadership meetings, and facility governance as appropriate
• Assisting in the development and implementation of clinical programs and services tailored to patient needs
• Supporting recruitment, training, and ongoing education of clinical staff
• Serving as a community ambassador to promote the facility and build relationships with referral sources
• Ensuring appropriate patient admission criteria, treatment planning, and discharge coordination to optimize outcomes and community reintegration

Qualifications

• MD or DO, licensed and in good standing in the state of practice
• Board certified with ongoing maintenance of certification
• Demonstrated experience in rehabilitation medicine through one of the following:
• Completion of a PM&R residency
• Fellowship training in rehabilitation (minimum one year)
• Hospital internship plus at least two years of experience managing inpatient rehabilitation patients as part of a collaborative team
