Job Description
Location: Rapid City, South Dakota
Position: Full-time Locum Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon in the orthopedic trauma department, responsible for evaluation and operative/non-operative management of acute traumatic musculoskeletal injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and manage orthopedic trauma patients in the ED, inpatient wards, and clinic.
- Perform surgical procedures for acute fractures, dislocations, and other traumatic conditions.
- Provide perioperative care and follow-up.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams (anesthesia, ICU, nursing, rehab).
- Maintain accurate medical records and participate in quality improvement and trauma program activities.
Compensation:
- $4,500–$5,000 per day.
Required Qualifications:
- MD or DO and completion of accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency.
- Fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma or substantial experience in orthopedic trauma surgery.
- Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Active or obtainable medical license to practice in South Dakota.
