Locums Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon — Level II (Rapid City, SD)

Location: Rapid City, South Dakota

Position: Full-time Locum Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon in the orthopedic trauma department, responsible for evaluation and operative/non-operative management of acute traumatic musculoskeletal injuries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and manage orthopedic trauma patients in the ED, inpatient wards, and clinic.
• Perform surgical procedures for acute fractures, dislocations, and other traumatic conditions.
• Provide perioperative care and follow-up.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams (anesthesia, ICU, nursing, rehab).
• Maintain accurate medical records and participate in quality improvement and trauma program activities.

Compensation:

• $4,500–$5,000 per day.

Required Qualifications:

• MD or DO and completion of accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency.
• Fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma or substantial experience in orthopedic trauma surgery.
• Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Active or obtainable medical license to practice in South Dakota.
