Locums Emergency Medicine Physician — Level IV Trauma Care, Epic EMR, Manageable Volume, St. Johns MI

We’re looking for a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician to cover a locum tenens assignment in St. Johns, Michigan. You’ll work in a busy community setting with a manageable patient volume, Epic EMR, and the chance to practice comprehensive emergency care at a Level IV Trauma Center.

Schedule & shifts

• July & August: two day shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) and seven night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM).
• September: additional shifts available, primarily nights.
• Shift length: 12 hours.

Facility snapshot

• Annual ED volume: ~13,800 visits.
• Average daily volume: 32–50 patients.
• ED beds: 10.
• Trauma designation: Level IV.
• EMR: Epic.

What you’ll do

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients across a broad range of emergency presentations.
• Respond to hospital codes as needed.
• Interpret EKGs (with final reads by cardiology).
• Collaborate with admitting physicians who handle admission orders.
• Stabilize obstetrical patients requiring higher-level care and coordinate transfers to Sparrow Lansing Labor & Delivery when indicated.
• Deliver timely, patient-centered care while working closely with nursing and hospital staff.

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine.
• Active Michigan medical license.
• Current ACLS and ATLS certifications.
• Prior experience in a community emergency department is preferred.
