Job Description
Board-certified or board-eligible General Surgeon needed for an ongoing locum tenens assignment in Dickinson, North Dakota. Mixed inpatient/outpatient practice with scheduled cases and call coverage in a collaborative setting.
Location and Schedule
- Ongoing coverage
- ~14 working days per month with 10 days of call
- Scheduled surgeries Monday–Friday
- Emergency surgery call coverage 24/7 as assigned
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient and outpatient general surgery care
- Evaluate and manage pre- and post-operative patients
- Participate in scheduled operative cases and emergency surgeries
- Average daily census: ~15 patients
- Average general surgery patients during a 24-hour call: 0–5
Required Procedures
- Abdominal surgery
- Laparoscopic procedures
- Gallbladder (cholecystectomy)
- Appendectomy
- Colon surgery
- Stomach surgery
- Liver procedures
- Spleen surgery
- Endoscopy
Qualifications and Credentials
- Board Certified in General Surgery or Board Eligible (within 3 years of U.S. residency completion)
- Active North Dakota medical license
- Current DEA registration
- ATLS and PALS certification
