Locum Cardiac Surgery NP or PA — Outpatient (Hackensack, NJ)

Full-time locum tenens position in Hackensack, NJ covering a leave of absence. Outpatient-only role with an established cardiac surgery team. Compensation: $125/hour.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, four 10-hour shifts per week (alternating day off)

Clinical responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage preoperative and postoperative cardiac surgery patients
• See ~10 patients per day
• Perform minor postoperative procedures (wound debridement, wound packing)
• Collaborate with cardiac surgeons and advanced practice providers to ensure continuity of care

Practice environment

• Work with 5 cardiac surgeons and 5 outpatient advanced practice providers
• Report to/coordinate with Clinical APN Manager
• Coordinate care with inpatient NP/PA team
• Supported by clerical coordinators, scheduling staff, certified medical assistants (CMAs), office supervisor, and office manager

Qualifications

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with cardiac surgery experience
• Active New Jersey license
• Current DEA and CDS registration
• Outpatient or surgical practice experience managing cardiac surgery patients preferred
