Job Description
Seeking an experienced CRNA for full-time locum tenens coverage at a high-volume Level I Adult Trauma medical center in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Overview
- Full-time locum tenens position covering a busy hospital-based anesthesia practice with a collaborative team and diverse, complex case mix.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday primary schedule
- Typical shift: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (8 hours)
- Full-time availability required (4 weeks/month)
- Flexibility in shift length and location based on staffing needs
- Must be willing to work nights, call, and weekends
Call
- Shared CRNA call rotation
- Approximately one weekend every other month
- Saturday and Sunday beeper call
Practice Setting & Volume
- Hospital-based anesthesia practice
- ~1,200 surgical cases per month
- Care team model: ~80% independent cases, ~20% medically directed/supervised

- Electrophysiology (EP)

- Majority of volume: Orthopedics, General Surgery, OB/GYN, ENT, Plastic, Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgery, Gastroenterology
Required Clinical Experience
- Adult Level I Trauma anesthesia
- Pediatric Level II Trauma anesthesia
- Level III NICU exposure
- Trauma cases, cardiothoracic procedures, obstetrics
- Pediatric anesthesia experience required
Facility Information
- Adult Level I Trauma Center
- Pediatric Level II Trauma Center
- Level III NICU
- EMR: Epic (Epic proficiency test-out available)
Qualifications
- CRNA, board certified
- Minimum 2 years post-CRNA experience (no new graduates)
- Active Florida CRNA license
- Current BLS, PALS, ATLS
- Experience with trauma, cardiothoracic, obstetric, pediatric, and complex surgical cases preferred
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must reside outside Florida; Florida-based providers will not be considered
- Must provide current out-of-state driver’s license with presentation
- Day-only availability cannot be accommodated
- Rush credentialing available; temporary privileges possible in 3–4 weeks for providers with a clean file and active Florida license
