Locum Pediatric Anesthesiologist — Richmond, VA (Weekday Days, No Nights/Weekends)

A tertiary care hospital in Richmond, VA seeks a locum Pediatric Anesthesiology physician for ongoing coverage starting ASAP. Predictable weekday schedule with no nights, weekends, or call.

• Hospital-based practice at a 466-bed tertiary care center
• Level I trauma center

Assignment details

• Start: ASAP
• Duration: Ongoing
• Typical shift: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
• Optional shifts: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM or 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• No nights, weekends, 24-hour call, in-house call, or beeper call

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for pediatric surgical patients
• Perform preoperative evaluations and develop anesthesia plans
• Administer and monitor anesthesia intraoperatively
• Manage postoperative recovery and pain control
• Collaborate with pediatric surgeons, perioperative nursing, and ancillary teams
• Complete accurate and timely documentation

Case mix

• Primary patient age range: approximately 2 days to 2 years
• Common procedures: hernia repairs, pyloric stenosis operations, ENT surgeries, and other general pediatric surgical cases

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board certified in Anesthesiology
• Fellowship-trained in Pediatric Anesthesiology (required)
• Active Virginia medical license preferred
• Current DEA registration if required by facility
