Locums Adult & Pediatric ENT Physician — Weekend Hospital Call, No Clinic, Surgical/Trauma Coverage

A leading Worcester, MA healthcare system seeks a Locum ENT physician to provide weekend call coverage for adult and pediatric patients. This is 100% on-call, hospital-based coverage with no clinic responsibilities. Initial assignment August–September 2026, with possible extension.

Assignment details

• Dates: August–September 2026 (potential extension)
• Coverage: Two weekends per month
• Schedule: Friday 4:00 PM to Monday 6:00 AM
• Setting: Hospital-based; on-site call
• Clinic responsibilities: None
• Surgical coverage: Yes

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide weekend call coverage for adult and pediatric ENT patients
• Evaluate and manage ENT emergencies and inpatient consults, including trauma-related cases
• Provide surgical coverage and perform operative interventions as indicated
• Perform bedside procedures and diagnostic endoscopy
• Collaborate with emergency medicine, hospitalists, surgeons, and residents
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation

Required procedures/skills

• Cerumen removal
• Diagnostic laryngoscopy
• Diagnostic nasal endoscopy
• Excision of tongue fold lesions
• Emergency ENT evaluations and interventions
• Trauma-related ENT care

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Otolaryngology
• Experience treating adults and children
• Trauma experience required
• Active Massachusetts medical license required prior to start
• DEA registration required

• Due to time-sensitive coverage needs, candidates must already hold an active Massachusetts medical license.
