Locums Emergency Medicine opportunity in Sebring, FL — community hospital ED.
Assignment details
- Facility type: Community hospital Emergency Department
- Annual volume: ~18,000 visits
- ED size: 13 beds
- Coverage model: Single-physician coverage; shifts 7a–7p and 7p–7a
- APP coverage: 8 hours/day off season; 10 hours/day peak season
- Admission rate: ~15%
- Dedicated senior ER for geriatric patients
- EMR: MEDHOST
- Duration: Ongoing locums coverage
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of emergency conditions
- Stabilize critically ill or injured patients; coordinate admissions and transfers
- Lead and supervise APPs and ED staff during shifts
- Collaborate with nursing and hospitalist teams to maintain patient flow and quality of care
- Accurately document all encounters in MEDHOST
Requirements
- Board certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM required)
- Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain prior to start
- Current ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications
- Prefer two or more years recent ED experience
